A little about Miss Joeylee

Joeylee is the light of our life!! She has quit the personality along with quite the attitude! (My parents claim she acts JUST LIKE ME when I was younger) She is currently 20 months old with an opinion about everything! She will tell me what shoes she wants to wear in the morning, if she wants to wear a dress of jeans for the day, if I forget to put a bow in her hair! I love that my little girl has such great fashion sense and I find at times to be really jealous of it ;)

She has recently become the Polite Princess. Please, Thank you, Welcome, No thank you are some of her favorites. Although watch out if she tells you Thank You for something she expects and Welcome in return!!!

Lately we have had a spell of her getting hurt! At first I felt really horrible thinking my gosh I have the kid who is ALWAYS HURT or always has SOMETHING wrong! But after about a couple months of this spell Jon and I like to look at it as we just dont keep her on a tight rope! We love that she explores and is being a kid and is getting hurt in the process. Its a good way for her to learn! Our job is to protect her from the evil and thats just what we will continue to do!
Joey Before her Clogged Tear Duct Operation / Face was scratched up by her Auntie Annie and Uncles Cat / Broke her leg Bouncing on a Bosu Ball and had a full leg cast for 5 weeks

Joey loves the outdoors and coloring is her favorite! She is addicted to Barney and Yo Gabba Gabba! (she even named one of her stuffed animals Gabba and sleeps with it every night). She has a favorite blankie and it has to go EVERYWHERE!

Of course my daughter is the smartest little 20 month old that ever walked this earth! ;) She knows all her colors and can count to 10. She sings half her ABC's and can tell you her name is Joey and full name is Joeylee! She will point out things and call them out that Jon and I dont even recognize half the time. I give most of her learning credit to my dad and her preschool she attends. My dad (her Papa) plays with her in a learning way and everytime we leave them she has a new mission of what she wants to learn!

She is one of the happiest kids I know! She loves spending time with her friends! Bath time has been a favorite of hers since she was a baby. The girl sleeps in on average 8:30-10 on weekends and is such a pain to wake up on the weekdays! She takes after her parents though and is quit the homebody! If she's in a situation she doesnt like or tends to get bored she will ask to go HOME! I dont think there is anywhere the 3 of us would rather be then a day at home in our PJ's!

Joeylee has changed Jon and I for the better! Its crazy at how fast she is growing up but has made us appreciate life in a whole new way! Being parents is the best thing that has ever happened to us and we thank god everyday for giving us Little Miss Joeylee!

CATCHUP!

So I stumbled across this blog of mine and looked back at the few blogs I posted and thought to myself OMG how will I ever catch up from this. SOOO MUCH has gone on in the last 2 1/2-3 years I cant believe I never wrote about it!

Lets Start with We Bought a house! We have been successful homeowners now for 2 years! I love our house! Living in town has its ups and downs but for right now it has a lot of ups. Although I do plan on moving back to the country one day I am enjoying my time with my family in town with some amazing neighbors!

We have a DAUGHTER! Miss Joeylee McKenna Whitford arrived on her Due date June 29th, 2009! We never found out the sex of the baby during pregnancy and having a little girl was a shock! But I couldn't picture my life any other way! She bring so much joy and love to our family. Becoming a mom was one of the best things that could of ever happened to me! I get choked up at the thought of how fast she is growing and how much she is learning and changing daily! She is by far become mine and Jon's whole world and every decision we make revolves around HER! We plan on giving her a little sibling one day but in the mean time we are enjoying watching and helping her learn and explore! She is at SUCH A FUN AGE that we really don't want to take the time and start all over just yet. Although if you ask Joey if she wants a little brother she says No and if you ask her if she would like a little Sissy she smiles and says Yes :)

We ended up bringing that dog into our house! Boomer and Toby still RULE the house! We have the BEST dogs for little miss Joey and we couldn't of picked a better one! They play with her and sleep with her and they are HER DOGS! They are the best of friends and every night Joey makes sure she give her puppies a kiss goodnight and a hug in the morning! They are GREAT with her!!

As for Jon and I! we are as happy as ever! On a daily basis we will find ourselves sitting there just watching Joey and think of how lucky we are! We truly live one of the greatest lives and are as happy as ever can be! Jon found his career as a teacher teaching Drivers Ed and Health at a High School in Stockton. And I work at an Elementary School in Herald as Admin Assistant. We have summers off and a week off for all holidays! Our lives are great and if I cant be a stay at home mom I'd like to think that I have the next best thing!

New Puppy!

WE GOT A NEW PUPPY!!

Jon and I have been doing a lot of thinking of how we should get another dog for Toby (or dog we have had now for 9 months) He is the most PLAYFUL puppy we know and has the personality that wouldnt harm a fly! Currently as we live on my parents property Toby runs around and plays with the other 5 dogs that my parents have. Since we are moving out soon we thought it would be smart to get him a little friend so he wouldnt be all alone and to keep him busy!
Jon and I did a lot of hunting and I did a lot of research on what kind of dog to get! With the baby coming in 5 months we wanted a fmaily oriented dog but also a good size for Toby! If it was up to me we would have gotten a St Bernard since that is my dream dog! But our backyard just isnt quite big enough for one.
Jon has always been in LOVE with Corgis and has ALWAYS WANTED ONE! I personally didnt really know what they were till he mentioned them. I did some research on them and they do seem to be very good dogs and great size! I am a big fan of ADOPTING a dog rather than paying lots of money for one. I tried to find a corgi to adopt but their wasnt to many Pure Bred Corgis available so I went to the next step and looked into breeders! I was going to suprise JOn with one on his birthday but I really wanted this picking of a dog to be a mutual decision. I then found a breader located in Elk Grove and immidiatley called them to get some information. Jon and I went to go take a look at the puppies (who at the time were 3 weeks old) and we ended up picking one out!
Jon picked the breed and the name so he allowed me to pick the one I wanted out of the litter. I really liked Brown and White Corgis but their was something about this black and brown one (being the ONLY black and brown one) that I just couldn't pass up!
His name is Boomer, our new Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppy! He comes home February 14th :)

Married Life

Married life is AMAZING!

We have been together for 6 years but its so much better when you are married. We have been married for only 4 months now but its been such a GREAT 4 months.

Getting married was the best thing we could have done and I wouldnt go back a day. Having one another by our sides as our husband/wife is so much different than boyfriend/girlfriend. The biggest change is of course changing the last name and having a HUSBAND. But like I said I wouldnt trade if for ANYTHING.

We are both REALLY excited to be our OWN family and to expand it ourselves. Its an exciting time and we cant wait for the future!

House Hunting

So...now that we are married and are expecting a baby I guess its time to get out their on our own and be homeowners.

We are new to the whole house hunting and we've heard it a hundred times of the deals that are out there on foreclosures. We have a couple offers out there but really are in no hurry. The more money we save the better and we seem to be very picky about where I will be raising this child for the next 3-4 years. But we ARE looking and hoping that the right house just comes out on the market.

EXPECTING PARENTS.....

THAT'S RIGHT, WE'RE HAVING A BABY.....
We will be the first to admit hat NO IT WASNT PLANNED.....However, Jon and I always wanted kids it jsut happened a little sooner than we thought. But we are both VERY excited and can't WAIT to bring in a new life that we created.
We are due June 29th, 2009. And NO we are ABSOLUTLEY NOT going to find out what it is. We both feel very strongly about not finding out the sex and being suprised. We understand that not finding out has its ups and downs but nothing that cant wait. I have some ideas for the baby room and I know that Pink OR Blue goes very well with brown or black :) We both don't have a prefrence of sex either. We will be very thrilled either way with a Son or a Daughter!
Ever since we got really serious in our relationship we of course would talk about our future being together and having kids. Since we had 6 years to talk about it we have already come up with a few names that we really like. Since Jon and Jamie both start with the letter "J" we figured it would be kinda fun to have kids with "J" names. We have a few names in mind for a little girl and a few names in mind for a little boy. I felt very strongly about hiding my names up until we found out we were having a baby now I like to share them. Feel free to ask us when you see us ;)
